Rants
Job Applications
- I do not want to have an “instant interview” with your chatbot
- I do not want to talk to your Virtual Recruiter
- I do not want to sign into your web portal
- I do not want to consent to have my application processed by an AI
- I do not want to “follow $companyName on LinkedIn for updates”
- I do not want to “opt in to receive SMS updates on my application and information about other positions”
I want you to give me a single form that asks all the questions in one shot. It’s not that hard, the <form> element has been widely supported since 2015
Power Automate Is Awful
Reasons why Microsoft Power Automate sucks and Microsoft should feel badMy Issues with Low Code
Specifically the Microsoft™ Power Platform™
Power automate is a useful tool. It lets you connect almost anything in the Microsoft ecosystem (and even outside the Microsoft ecosystem if you pay for premium). Unfortunately it is not a good tool.
If Janice from Accounting wants to have an email appear when there’s a new SharePoint item with their name on it, sure. That’s possible. And fairly simple. Power Automate is quite good at this. Easy enough UI, no need to “deploy” or “host” the automation anywhere. It’s great.
